Count Your Blessings

Welcome friends and visitors! I've been making a lot of Christmas cards lately, and I wanted to take a little break and join in a few challenges that are still focused on fall. This evening I made this little canvas (it's 3 inches square) inspired by the gorgeous mixed media card Suzz of Suzz's Stamping Spot made for her DT inspiration for Frilly and Funkie's Bountiful Harvest challenge.

I don't have a leaf stencil, so I made my own using Tim Holtz Fall Foliage Thinlits die. I used Golden crackle paste on Tim's Tissue Wrap  and directly on my tissue paper wrapped canvas. I used a Tim Holtz Doily die cut to add more texture. I fussy cut the Tissue Wrap leaves and applied to my already stenciled canvas. I used Tarnished Brass, Carved Pumpkin and Rusty Hinge Distress sprays and splashes of fall colored Twinkling H2O's. The canvas was sealed with DecoArt Matte Medium and at the same time I added mini and regular art stones.  I swiped on metallic wax rubs randomly and added a Chit Chat Occasions sticker for the sentiment.

I am sharing my canvas with the following challenges:
-Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge-Trio Tastic I used 3 Distress spray colors and there are 3 different leaves as my main focal point.
-Crafty Calendar "Autumn Colors"
Mixed Media Place November Challenge A beautiful moodboard; I was inspired by the leaves and the berries in the wreath.

And while I was counting my blessings, I thought of my family and closest friends. Here are the cards I massed produced for them.

Still counting my blessings...this little butterfly was in my garden looking very lost and cold. I picked him up and put him on my butterfly bush where he bloomed!

That's it for today!
Thank you for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments! I read and appreciate each and every one of them.
Hugs and Blessings!

  4. Woah! Can't believe how lucky your family is to receive these cards. I know how much work you put into them because I have my own version - I'm the lucky one here! I too wanted to remake Suzz's project, so cool! Love your version and variations. I've been wanting to make a leaf stencil too. I did use my friend's japanese screw punch this weekend to make a snowfall stencil. Fun! Made a snowflake one from the new thinlets yesterday too, but haven't used it yet. Good times, now come on over and we'll stamp another stash! LOL! ;0 Hugs, Autumn

As for the butterfly, the Monarch is the one I miss seeing the most, I hope he survives, he really should be heading south by now - fingers crossed he makes it! Hugs, Anne xx

  9. What a beautiful canvas, Sara Emily! I love the richness of the tones and all of the texture you added. You did an amazing job and it truly reminds me of the wonderful fall foliage (which is now mostly raked up and gone here). Just beautiful. 15. Oh dear Sara, this post has just melted my heart today!! Your canvas is in my top 5 favourite autumn projects that I've seen this year for sure! That texture is just incredible and all of those 3D leaves you incorporated give it such amazing dimension! So shimmery and brilliant, love love love!! Your cards are just beautiful, you are such a thoughtful and kind soul, your friends must have been over the moon to receive such a lovely card!! I admit my favourite part of today is the butterfly. I just love you even more when I see an act of kindness like this, your heart is big and the world around you is a better place because of you! Let's face it, there's a lot of cruelty in the world, so even a small act of kindness is a miracle. Thank you for being you Sara. sending hugs :)
