Hello! I finally had a chance to break out my Christmas goodies and get started on some Christmas cards. Thankfully, Tim Holtz shared some of his Holiday Hacks, so the rest of my holiday crafting might go a little faster.

When I purchased Tim Holtz Music & Advert stamps, I immediately saw this being used with Tim's Alcohol Lift Ink. I used Tim's white Yupo paper and my alcohol ink colors are listed below.

I used my lifted image on Distress watercolor cardstock, which I then colored with Distress Oxides --Festive Berries, Iced Spruce and Pumice Stone and Vintage Photo Distress ink. I die cut it with Mixed Media Christmas Thinlits.

I love the Winter Watercolor stamps Tim released this season. I inked the smallest of the poinsettias in Festive Berries oxide, spritzed the stamp with water and made a several impressions. I fussy cut them, shaped and layered them up. The centers were inked with Crushed Olive, and I scribbled the edges with Tarnished Brass Distress Crayon.

I love the new faces in the Christmas Paper Dolls pack, even though I still have plenty left from last year's pack. These two children look like they're dressed up to do some Christmas shopping at the toy store, perhaps followed by a visit to Santa.

I used Holiday Greens, Mini and Funky Festive colored with Distress inks and oxides in greens. My seam binding ribbon is colored with Festive Berries oxide ink, Vintage Photo ink and Tarnished Brass Distress Mica Spray.

An Ideaology Christmas Adornment stands in for a Christmas greeting. I patted it with Picket Fence Distress paint, let it dry a minute and wiped it off with a paper towel. I scribbled it with Tarnished Brass crayon. In real life it's so shimmery!

Anniversary Card for Just My Type Challenge at Frilly and Funkie

Hello friends! It's time for the Funkie girls at Frilly and Funkie to present their inspiration for the current challenge, 'Just My Type' hosted by talented and lovely Jenny.

Here's what Jenny has to say about her chosen theme: As a trained touch typist I love vintage typewriters. I love the way they look and sound and the font they create. For this challenge create a vintage or shabby chic project and include a typewriter, typewriter keys, typeface.

What a great theme that seemed to lend itself to creating an anniversary card for my husband. The typewriter is my favorite of the Inventor series by Tim Holtz, and I used it on my background using Alcohol Lift ink. The original alcohol ink panel I lifted this print from was used on this card.

I also used the lift technique on the mat panel just beneath the Metallic Kraft Stock layer. The typeface image is from Tim's old School Desk set. Both panels were blended with Old Paper and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide.

I tucked in a scrap die cut with the type die from the Mixed Media #3 set and colored with oxide inks.I tore the edges and blended with Ground Espresso Distress ink.

The happy couple is one of my favorite Paper Dolls. I just distressed them with my Prima paper distress tool my good friend Autumn gifted me with last Christmas and blended them with Vintage Photo ink.

I used Ideaology Type Charms for part of my sentiment. I removed the bail and antiqued them with Caramel alcohol ink and Chunky Rust Baked Texture powder.

I made a sentiment panel reading 'mytype' by adhering letters from the Mixed Media #3 die, which I cut several times. I adhered them with Distress Collage Medium Matte and lots of patience. When dry, I colored with Distress Crayons, smeared the letters with Prima White Gold Metallic Wax and more crayon. Eventually, I ended up sanding the letters to removed most of the color. Originally, this read '#justmytype', but it just didn't look good sprawled across the card, and I figured my husband wouldn't get it anyway. I don't think he got it anyway; he kept wondering what 'afkpu' meant. LOL!

That's it for me today! I do hope you will visit the blog to see what the entire Frilly and Funkie team has created just for you! And then, it's over to you! We'd love to see you play along with our 'Just My Type' challenge! As always, the Design Team will choose their top four favorites, with the winner being invited to join us in a Guest Designer spot at Frilly and Funkie, and the next three will receive Top 3 badges to display on their blogs. Everyone who enters and follows the rules will be entered into the draw to have the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Challenges entered:

Happy crafting!
