Revisiting My Three Favorite Steampunk and/or Industrial Projects From 2016

Welcome friends and visitors! Sandee and Amelie and their talented Team are having a look back into our favorite Steampunk and/or Industrial projects for the year 2016. I don't do much in the line of Steampunk, although I love looking at it, but I've had a few handfuls of Industrial projects I've managed to make last year that lean toward Steampunk. Picking three favorites is a challenge all unto itself, but here goes:

I made this Industrial canvas in February of 2016 and titled it Stay Curious. It's probably my favorite project of all time, excluding anything made for Halloween. Lots of metal, texture and RUST! I can almost smell the old engine oil when I look at this photo! Beware, the post is very laden with photos!

Oh, another favorite, also with lots of rust is this birthday card I made last May for my friend Niki of Pawsitively Creative. You can see how I made that rusted sheet metal background at my post Celebrate Your Style.

And for my third pick, I chose my Grungy Gift Box I made for my husband's Father's Day gift. Lots of crust on this, and I guess that's why I chose it for my final fav!

Be sure to stop by Sandee and Amelie's Steampunk Challenge and see which of Top projects the Design Team members chose of their own personal favorites! I think you'll agree that they are your favorites, too! I am submitting this to the Sandee and amelie's Steampunk Top 3 2016 Steampunk/Industrial Projects Challenge.

Thank you for dropping in today! I understand if you do not wish to comment. For those of you that have already experienced my delight in these projects one time, you certainly do not have to go through this a second time!

Hugs and Blessings!
Sara Emily

  4. Wow, wow and wow Sara! So much texture, lots of lovely rust! I love on the first piece how you made corrugated card look like corrugated iron; embossed umbrella man on the second is superb and all the rusty goodness on the third one really appeals. Love them all my talented friend!! Hugs, Anne xx

  10. I can see why you loved these projects -- I love your canvas and I am not a steam punk fan. It might not be Halloween but it your crusty technique definitely looks like it was found in an old tomb!

  15. Oh wow, I remember these projects! You sure do have a way with the rusted bits my friend! It's nice to see your favourites all lined up like this, although it must have been difficult to narrow it down to just three! I can think of several other projects that should also be here, a couple of ones you did with cracked clocks on them for starters. Anyway, love all your work dear, have a great week! hugs :)

  19. I marveled at each one of these when you originally published them, Sara, and now I marvel even more, having attempted a few times to achieve even a smattering of your textures and metals, and failing entirely. I'll keep being inspired by yours, and keep trying - maybe someday I'll catch on. LOL Your range of abilities always amazes me - there is a Sara Style, but then, that style emerges no matter what technique or general style you are using for a project. Thanks for sharing! hugs, de

  21. Delicious recap and those are the ones I would have picked as well. I adore the first one of course, and the third one but my heart belongs to the card. Haha. I have it displayed and look at it every time I am in my art room. And the little hidden surprise of the tag coming out is genius and I still get a kick out of it! Gorgeous grunge and rusty bits, makes a girls heart go pitter patter. Hugz to you muffin! ~Punkin
