The Undertaker and a Little Giveaway

Sara Emily Barker https://sarascloset1.blogspot.com/2018/10/the-undertaker-and-little-giveaway.html Halloween Card with Tim Holtz Giveaway 1

Hello! I hope you are enjoying a beautiful brisk fall day wherever you are! Nothing puts me in the Halloween mood like cool, crisp days. And it's hard NOT to get in the 'spirit' of things when you play with Tim Holtz Halloween Ideaology releases. I've combined some older Ideaology papers and ephemera with Tim's newer collections on my card.

And speaking of older collections, I find myself with an extra pack of Halloween Remnant Rubs from last year's release. Leave me a comment below, and let me know if you would like to win a pack. I will randomly draw a name from the comments on this post on Oct. 16 and post the winner on Oct. 17.

I started with older Materialize paper stash and blended it with Black Soot Distress Oxide for my base layer. For the main layer, I embossed Heavy Stock blended with Antique Linen oxide ink using the Botanical 3D Texture Fade. I smeared it randomly with Crazing and when dry, blended with Black Soot oxide ink and crayon.

I layered some new Halloween ephemera pieces with some from last year's pack, a Found Relatives card from which I cut and used the girl on this card, some lace from my stash and a Halloween Paper Doll. A Remnant Rub explains his business plan.

The skull and crossbones charm is from The Funkie Junkie Boutique, and I first patted it with Picket Fence paint and then Mushroom alcohol ink.

I scuffed the Halloween Quote Chip and blended with Antique Linen ink. Everything was adhered with Distress Collage Medium Matte.

Thank you for stopping by today and for your lovely comments. Since writing this post, Hurricane Michael has made landfall in Florida. My prayers are with those that have homes and their livelihood in the many areas affected by the storm.

Hugs and Blessings!
Sara Emily

  6. I'd love to win anything Tim Holtz style! This card fits right in to make for my oldest grandson, who, after 4 years of college and 1 year of gettin' out there soaking up experience, has gotten into the undertaking business. Great card!

  8. I love your card Sara. I did the same thing with the botanical embossing folder. I used some red metallic paper and then smeared black soot ink on top of it. I loved the prettiness of the folder with the black over the top. I used Dracula ‍♂️ on it.
