Witch's Brew

Good Evening!  I am really enjoying creating all this Halloween stuff!  Here is one I came up with using an old aluminum coffee pot I found recently at a yardsale.

You can see quite a bit of pink here...Yuck!  That's the reflection of the shirt I was wearing during photographing.

The stars are tinted blue (stream)  with a touch of caramel alcohol inks.

I started by making gel medium transfers of two sinister looking women whom I  have adorned with witch' s hats. I stamped my  recipe on tissue paper, using a letter set I have in my stash.  I used stickers from my stash to write out "I'm a witch before I've had my brew" and "Witch's Brew". I glued  and sealed the tissue paper recipe and transfers with  Mod Podge. I dribbled alcohol ink around the spout and rim randomly. Once the sealant was dry, I inked the recipe with Distress Inks.

Wow!  There's your Sparkle and Shine!

A special thank you to the girls at Office Depot who helped me figure out the copy machine to make my witches!

I added trim to the knob and eyelash trim to the rim of the lid.  I dyed the cheesecloth with Glimmer Mist, and spritzed with water to blend.  This was glued around the rim of the pot.  I altered Tim's Tinsel trim with alcohol inks and blasted with the heat gun to frizzle it up a bit and to dry.  This was glued around the rim of the lid.

I added Distress stain to Tim's Alpha Parts "31" and adhered to the spout.  A gruesome skeletal hand is slithering out of the spout, toward the skull on the knob.  Both were plastic toys from my kid's Halloween stash (don't tell, OK?) altered with Distress paint, ink and alcohol inks.  How do you like those eye sockets? Gotta love Stickles--it's good for what ails you! I had a few bits of Spring Greenery left from a recent project, and I gave that a little special treatment to go under the skull.

Sorry for the blurries! He has a nice smile, don't you think?

A few stars from the Paper Studio, gussied up with alcohol inks for the lid, an Idea-ology trinket holder with some trinkets from my stash.  The rectangular one was perfect for Tim's Rub-ons.  I made the bottle "cork" with Sculpey, and treated the bottle with the Faux Cracked Glass technique from  Tim's Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 3  with a little Sara twist.  I stamped Tim's Little Labels potion label from Stampers Anonymous using Archival ink on tissue paper, and adhered it with Mod Podge.

I think that's it.  I think I'll pour myself a mug!  In the event you would like to make a pot of your own brew, my recipe is " Minced Mice Morsels, Fillet of Frog Feet, and Syrup of Sludge".

I hope you enjoyed another one of my Halloween alterations! I'm running out of room to put them!  Thank you for all you wonderful inspiring comments!  I appreciate them all, and strive to respond to each and every one.

I would like to enter this in the following inspiring challenges: ( Please be sure to visit each one, because they have some awesome projects fresh from the talented design teams!)

A Vintage Journey "Heavy Metal" Challenge #16  A very special prize awarded by Country View Crafts Projects should reflect (no pun intended!) Tim Holtz's style.  I think I have achieved this by not only the use of his products and his techniques, but for his grungy, over the top style.
Country View Challenge for October "Sparkle and Shine" also sponsored by Country View Crafts! (Obvious sparkle and shine!)
Frilly and Funkie "Autumn Colors" sponsored so generously by the Funkie Junkie Boutique (I think pewters/silvers/antique golds/purples/blues/rusts all remind me of autumn, not only in our home decor, but in nature.)
Our Creative Corner "Go Rustic" Also sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique! (I chose to use rust colors on my project--not actual or faux rust.)
Eileen Hulls' Art With Heart Challenge October "Tricks and Treats"
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "O is for..." October and Halloween, of course!
Inspiration Journal "In Disguise" My coffee pot is disguised as a Witch's Brew Cauldron and Sculpey is disguised as cork. Spring greenery is disguised as ...well.. witchy magical stuff under the skull.
Artist Trading Post Exchange "Halloween" Need I say more?
