Masculine Mixed Media Card with Tim Holtz Products

Sara Emily Barker https://sarascloset1.blogspot.com/ Masculine Mixed Media Card With Tim Holtz Products 1

Hello again! The Birthday challenge at Simon Says Stamp has inspired me to make a few birthday cards to have on hand. Today I'm sharing a silly guy card with you and hopefully, tomorrow I'll have something frilly for the girls.

This masculine card is made with a background created with Tim Holtz Rosettes Embossing Folder, Metallic Kraft Stock, Distress paint, crayon, and alcohol ink. I have a complete step by step tutorial on this technique HERE.

I heat embossed three Seth Apter die cuts I had in my stash with silver embossing powder and a sprinkling of Hammered Metal powder for age. Idea-olgy Keepsake and Snippet ephemera, Paper Doll and Snarky Small Talk sticker finish it off. The Paper Doll was colored with Chipped Sapphire Distress Crayon and a water brush, and the ephemera aged with Ground Espresso ink. The blue panel is matted with black card and a panel of old Paperstash--possibly Dapper.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my grungy card. Hugs! Sara Emily

  2. hahahaha! What a great card to use a photo of someone so regal and sophisticated in his serious pose, to be paired with the hilarious sentiment, also done in a vintage, sophisticated manner. Your details, as always, Sara, are breathtaking with amazing beauty and textures! Looking forward to the "girl" version! hugs, de

    1. Fun to make, Donna, but I just can't see sending this to anyone. I love this guy with his deadpan look--he just looks like that's what he's thinking to me.
