Shabby Sea Themed Card

Welcome friends and visitors! Today I have the honor of being Guest Designer for Cropstop challenge blog! Special thanks to the lovely Esther Asbury of Shoregirls Creations for inviting me! Please be sure to visit Cropstop and Shoregirl's Creations for some great inspiration!

I started by selecting a background stamped with a wispy seaweed stamp (far right) my good bud, Autumn shared on our crafty weekend at the lake. I added some Distress oxides in blues/greens and stamped a coral image from my stash in yet another blue oxide.

I used Tim Hotlz' Flourish mini stencil, Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste, and Ranger Distress Powder in Peeled Paint for yet more seaweed. The bubbles were created by making a stencil from the original Mixed Media die and running the texture paste over it. I removed the die cut and sprinkled with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. Once the paste had dried, heated the powder to melt.

The shells were made using Tim's Seashells die. You can see how these were made in my tutorial. Tim's Funkie Floral #3 is such a versatile die; here I've used it to cut some inked scrap paper and Graphic 45 Sun Kissed paper to represent seaweed. A bit of Mercury Glass Stickles gives it shimmer.

I fussy cut the turtles from the same designer paper and backed my panel with more of the paper from the collection. I purposefully left off a sentiment, since I don't know what occasion I will use it for.

I hope you enjoyed my card! Thank you for stopping by and for all your wonderful, inspiring comments!
Hugs and Blessings!
