Another project for Fashionable Stamping Challenge #79 Make Us Laugh! I purchased this "Wondering Midge" (Riley Stamps) stamp a while back, thinking how funny she looked, but never had the chance to use it. The time has come thanks to FSC! And you should join the laughter at FSC too, because there is a very generous prize to the winner from Flonzcraft.com.
For the background, I have included everything but the kitchen sink! First I used Distress Paints and Tim Holtz' Marbling technique, but that didn't do much, so I added some Distress Ink and spritzed and flicked some water (which is part of his technique Compendium of Curiosities Vol. 3). After drying, I stamped my image with Archival Ink. This looked a little blah, so I masked Midge and sprayed Dylusions Ink spray through Tim Holtz' rays stencil, flipped it over and used the remaining ink for a second impression. When all that was dry, I used my Dylusions dots and flowers stencil and sprayed white Dylusions spray through it, all the while masking Midge. I think that's enough!
Next I added my funny line. I found the "joke" in my file of jokes, and I used some Hero Arts alpha stamps to print it out with Archival Ink over my background.
I finished the card off by distressing the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and adhering this to a card blank. I think this will make a great snarky birthday card.
Thanks so much for having a look!
