Last card for now...

I found another old art stamp in my box of old stamps I can't bear to part with.  It's called House Plans by Stampington and Company.  It reminds me of my architect husband, so I decided to go with that idea.

I am going to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Artsy Stamp, the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes, and the Eureka Stamps Masculine or Grungy Challenge.

For the background I used a heavy card stock and inked up Stampington and Company's Facade stamp with Archival Jet Black. I stamped this, Tim Holtz Dare to Dream from Simple Sayings, and various other tiny sentiments from a background stamp of unknown origin ("joints", "specifications", "creative", and "great idea") all with the same ink. Then I dry embossed  with Tim Holtz Bricked Texture Fade.  I applied gesso to the embossed card with a palette knife and let that dry while I made all my other cards.  Later, I used an Ink blending tool to distress  the brick with Fired Brick (of course) and Black Soot Distress Inks, wiping with a damp baby wipe after. Distressed edges with Tim's Distressing Tool and glued onto a black card base.

Now for that cool stamp.  I tore up pieces of old book pages and glued them to white cardstock.  Painted with gesso and dried.  Then painted with Antique Linen, Weathered Wood and Mustard Seed Distress Paints.  Spritzed with water to blend.  Dried and then stamped this with  House Plans with Archival Jet Black ink. Cut out and popped up off background.  I had my husband hand letter the sentiment which I cut out and edged with black ink and popped off the back ground.

I think this would make a great Father's Day card from me.  Poor guy, has to help make his own card!

  5. Hi Sarah, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a lovely comment.
To 'grab a badge' you need to copy the text under the 'I made top 5' badge on the Eureka blog and then go into 'Layout' on your blog and select 'Add a Gadget', you will then need to select 'HTML/JavaScript' and paste the copied text in the large box - you can give it a title if you wish but you don't have to. Make sure you click save and then the 'badge' will appear on your sidebar.
    I hope this helps.
