Vintage Carolers Card - 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style Week 4

Hello! I've finally gotten another card made for Linda's 12 Tags of Christmas Funkie Junkie Style Week 4. Her 12 week challenge is generously sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique. If you fancy playing along, her simple guidelines for the challenge can be found HERE.

Inspired by Linda's vintage carolers, holly and sheet music, I gathered my supplies. My version is quite simple and flat; great for easy posting. Please visit Linda's blog to see her beautiful vintage tag.

I've used one of Tim's old Holidays Past Christmas Paper Stash from holidays past for the base. I die cut watercolor paper with Tim's Mixed Media Christmas die from last year and blended it with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide and spritzed it with water. I stamped it with a lovely stamp Autumn sent me last Christmas using Walnut Stain DOX. 'Silent Night' is my favorite Christmas hymn. Lastly, I splattered with chalky white paint for a light snowfall.

I topped my card with the Carolers cut from waste packaging and sanded them lightly. The bow is made using Metallic Trimmings colored with Tarnished Brass Distress Stain. The Trimmings react like shrink plastic when heated, and if you blast it quickly with the heat tool, the bow tightens up perfectly and the ends shrink up for a sweet little bow. Finally,  I chose a Metallic Holiday Talk for my greeting and added two Ideaology Tiny Bells.

I'm sharing my card with these challenges:

Thank you for stopping by today and for all your sweet comments!
Hugs and Blessings!

  1. I can feel the merriment all the way in the south! I love the vintage flavor of your creation, Sara Emily, and the beautiful snowy look - whether it be due to an antique home decor item, or a contemporary distressed mixed media style - leave it to you to blend both styles together in your artsy technique! Beautifully done! hugs, de
