White Christmas

Hello friends and visitors! I'm dreaming of a white Christmas! Or at least a white Easter! Is it unseasonably cool where you live? It sure is here! It put me in the Christmas spirit, and I headed into the Closet to make this month's Christmas greeting.

I love how the colors change, depending on which way the light hits, both on the background and on the acetate stylized snowflakes.

I felt like I owed Stephanie at Jingle Belles another Christmas card using her sketch since I kind of did my own thing HERE. So I made this card especially with her sketch in mind. I'm keeping up with my monthly Christmas card promise, and I got to use some of those wonderful Christmas gifts Autumn (SewPaperPaint) sent me! Thank you, again, Autumn for these acetate die cuts--notice I flipped them over:).

This simple card's background is made with DOX in Broken China and Cracked Pistachio. Lots of dipping and drying, dipping and drying, dipping and drying.  The textured snowflakes are formed with a Tim Holtz stencil and crackle paste. Easy peasey!

A Chit Chat sticker, some pencil  to outline, and a splash of watered down gesso and it's done!

Thanks for the great sketch, Stephanie, to make my Christmas card-making so fun and simple!

I'm entering these fine challenges:
Jingle Belles-Sketch-O-Licious
Creative Artiste Challenge #25- Anything Mixed Media Goes I used Distress Oxides, crackle paste, pencil and gesso.

That's it for now! Thank you for stopping in today and for all your lovely comments!
Hugs and Blessings!

  10. Oooooooh! LOVE this, Sara! You've inspired me! Hopefully I can make some early Christmas cards with a few of your techniques! This is pure loveliness. No, it has not been unseasonably cool here. In fact, the weather forecasters say we should enjoy today as our last day of low humidity until next Fall. We've had an extremely mild-to-warm, above-normal winter. Still, I am grateful to not have to shovel snow. LOL sending warm hugs your way, de
