I purchased some cheapo burlap sheets in a stack at a big box craft store earlier this year, and this seemed to be the perfect time to bring them out. I gave them a wash of DecoArt White Wash paint. More patterned paper from my stash in a soft mint that really does not photograph well in the bright sun.
I used a beautiful Memory Box frame die cut dipped in a puddle of Walnut Stain DOX to frame my Tim Holtz Wildflowers (original set--I don't have the newer set). These are painted with DOX and a water pen.
And there's that embossed butterfly belly band again! This was actually a test scrap I made on pink card. I used DOX on it and it looked HORRIBLE! So I sanded it off, gave it a scraping of gesso with a credit card and added DOX again. I kind of liked how it turned out, so I saved it, in case I made a card I could use it on. Just perfect for this card, I think.
A Chit Chat sticker makes for an easy sentiment, also dipped in Walnut Stain DOX. So another Easter card, easily mailed. I'm happy to say I think it will reach it's destination in time to please my sister and brother in law who grow flowers at Hilltop Farms in Springfield, MO. Thank you, Amy, for sharing the good news with me so many years ago!

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and oh so delicate in shade, love it! I hope you and your family had a lovely Easter huni. Thank you for the congrats for my button entry at Mixed Media Monthly. I think but I can't remember fully, that it was my first time there. To say I was shocked was a bit of an understatement, I actually burst into tears huni. I was thrilled because, yes, it took a lot of time to add those buttons and then gesso the rotters! My lovely hubby was so thrilled for me because he loved it too, and got what I was trying to represent immediately lol! Have a great week sweet lady xx
