Everything else is pretty much Tim Holtz except the smaller cog, which is a wooden one from my stash. An arrow from the Alpha Parts Framed collection was colored with Distress paints following this Tim Hotlz tutorial.
I've had a lot of fun revisiting the technique and making this card. I hope it cheers my father in law up.
Hugs and Blessings!

What a fabulous manly card! I'm always looking for inspiring masculine-themed cards and this one is stunning. I love how you made it for your father-in-law to help ease his surgery anxiety, too. I'm sure that means a lot and it was such a thoughtful thing to do. The texture and colors you created here are stunning and I'm so glad you took the time to share this with us for our Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sara!!! U’ve Gone & done it now, Girl!!
ReplyDeleteThis is an AMAZING take!!!
I can kick my own butt for not doing TWO Tags : 1 girly & 1 w crackle distress vintage!!!
(Yes, u were right: the one I made is for Baby Girl’s book- another Large Folio to do for her things to stay in, so it does stay here till she graduates HS- then gets a box full of things just like all of them ...GOD WILLING... I am lan doing.)
But maybe I’ll have a chance to try out the crackle -AND CRAYONS (duh!!! I could’ve used those also!)- on another Tag yet.

The subtle embossed Inventor images work so well to give another level of detail and delight to this grungy industrial card, Sara Emily. I love the paint-altered arrow - it looks properly decayed! - and the positive words send a great message to your F-in-law. Do hope all will go well with the surgery.
