Love...

Hello again!  As promised, I'm posting another Valentine today which is actually being published on the same day as my last. (It was a late night last night.)  This one's very simple, and I was able to use my brand new Impression Obsession Heart Flourish die. I love those delicate flourishes, and it makes me happy to shift my gears to a more feminine card this time.

Nothing too amazing here, but I did enjoy putting to use some of my paper stash...yes, I do own some softer looking papers!  I began with another upcycled store bought invitation, covering the back with coordinating card stock, and adding gesso to the front edges. I cut two more layers of plain white paper for the front and distressed the edges. I edged the bottom most layer with Versamark ink and dusted and embossed with PINK Frantage!  I think I'm turning into a "pink" person! While I had the Frantage out, I also embossed the heart portion of the die cut.

For my background panel, I chose a polka dotted paper, and inked up a Inkadinkadoo script stamp with Victorian Velvet Distress ink to lay down some text. "Love" (Rubber Stampede) was heat embossed in white. I had to tape off a portion of the stamp before inking so it would fit in with my design.

The arrow is a Spellbinders die, and I embossed with Aged Silver Frantage and my new Opalettes embossing enamel "Wild Hibiscus". Oh, I do love the contrast of the metals and enamels with the softness of the dies, background, and sentiment.

This card was so easy, I made two more while dinner was in the oven-- minus the Frantage! Pink for my daughter, red for my Mother and Father in Law and brown from my brother and sister in law. The bottom shot shows how I covered that horrible "I bought this cheap card in a pack from Target" insignia. I love turning trash into treasure!

I would like to enter my PINK card into the following inspiring challenges:
-Scrapy Land Challenge # 35 Anything Goes I used a Spellbinders die and a Impression Obsession die.

Thank you for your visit today and for your lovely comments!  I read and appreciate each and every one!
Hugs and Blessings!

  5. Absolutely beautiful, Sara! I love your use of the beautiful frilly heart die as your focal point. Funny thing, I have that same die and cut a piece of Graphic 45 paper with it for this challenge, but I couldn't get it to fit in properly with the design, so it's waiting for use on a different project. I lam having tons of fun seeing your 'soft side'! Everything you create is a treasure!
    Hugs,
    Nancy

  7. Wow! Top marks for the repurposed cards again! These are all so beautiful, but must say the addition of frantage does look SO good! Now Sarah, if you are becoming a 'pink' person what are your Halloween creations going to look like? Actually I could set you a challenge here...!!! Big Hugs, Chrisx

  9. Ohhh yes - so dainty and feminine... just EXQUISITE. So refreshing - light, airy, and lovely. The frantage is the perfect addition for the pink one but the other two look really great without it too. And that heart flourish die is truly very special. This would not be easy for me to make. I admire the way you can go from creating projects with such depths of texture and layers.... to creating such a delicate and sweet card. You always thrill me with your creativity Sara. These are all three just wonderful. HAPPY VALENTINE'S Day. XX j.

Impression Obsession dies are wonderful to work with as they cut so well. The heart flourish on your card will definitely be on my wish list. Thanks also Sara for your recent visit to my blog.
