Moments of Time

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a good week. It is amazing to me how fast the days are flying by, and it's near the end of January already! I have a mixed media card to share with you today using the colors and the time element in Claudia's Make Time-Mood Board challenge at Our Creative Corner.

If this looks familiar to you perhaps you have seen a similar card I made for my husband's Father's Day card here.  I hope there's no law that says you can't CASE your own work! The faux wood background is made using a Tim Holtz Texture Fade (pressure embossing), gesso and Distress inks. Heat embossing is done on the Tim Holtz clock, the little card base I set the clock face on, and  clock hands die cuts  using my precious Cloisonne powders and a knock off I concocted myself.  These are a cross between UTEE and embossing powder, and I've finally figured out how to make my own, so you will be seeing quite a bit of this.

The 3 clock faces are made from waste packaging using Tim Holtz Faux Cracked Glass technique. (Volume III Compendium of Curiosities) "Moments" is a Tim Holtz die. Sorry this is so brief, but I'm really short on TIME!

I would like to enter this into the following inspiring challenges:

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving your wonderful comments!  I read and appreciate each and every one of them!
Hugs and Blessings!
Sara Emily

  11. Wow Sara, this is just spectacular!! For the record, I think it's totally different than the other one, they both have clocks, that's it. Your designs and layouts are completely original, so I say GO GIRL!! I really do love the techniques you have here, I'm thinking it's time for a tutorial on how you're doing the rusty technique and the clock faces because holy moly, freaking awesome!! I love the background too, this whole piece has such an amazing antique feel to it. Like a treasure found in the back of old boutique! Well done my friend! love love love! hugs :)

  13. This is simply gorgeous! The cracked glass on your clock faces looks for all the world like antique glass. I'm so impressed! The little bits of color that you added in make it really special. Your background is just perfect for the subject, too. Are you sure you didn't travel back in time to retrieve some of these elements? It just has such a wonderful antique treasure feel. Thank you so much for sharing this with us in our Enjoy your Embossing Challenge at Frilly and Funkie!

  32. YEAH - this sooooo deserved a win Sara - it's absolutely GORGEOUS. Seem like it pays to "case" your own work!!! Loved hubby's card and love this too. I don't know HOW you come up with such luscious texturized projects, one after another dear girl. You just amaze me. I think you need to have your own gallery - people would be so delighted with all the variety and yumminess of your creativity. Anyway - I'm rambling.... just wanted to send you a HIGH FIVE. Hugs. j.

  35. Boy I haven't been around lately have I! You remind me of Alison - wonderful and creative ideas mixed with good technique. Alyson told me one time (and I don't think I am speaking out of school) that she does all of her directions with her post so that she might have a record of how and what she did. Smart!
So I can also go to you when I want to try something new!!
    Wonderful make!
