Hello! We are one day closer in our Advent journey! Hallelujah! The Lord is coming! I love the Wise Men die by Tim Holtz--it is my favorite of his ever! I've seen so many beautiful cards made with it, but none more beautiful than those made by Ann Sullivan Barnes (aksbarchitect CREATES), and I just had to case her card. Thank you for the inspiration and wonderful tutorial, Ann!
Excuse my horrible photos; I was in a rush to get my cards in the mail. I noticed the cat hair laying across this one when I was editing, but I thought the colors were as accurate as they were going to get in this shot. I used the same Distress Oxides that Ann did--Tattered Rose, Seedless Preserves, Aged Mahoghany and Chipped Sapphire, dipping in puddles on ink in that order. But I also blended with Black Soot and Chipped Sapphire inks before splattering with a little water.
I stamped my stars with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide like I did on this card. I heat embossed 'Silent Night, Holy Night' in Princess Gold powder. This stamp is a gift from my friend, Autumn, and is one of my favorite Christmas stamps. I cut the Star of Bethlehem from the background and inlaid one cut from Metallic Kraft Stock.
Merry Christmas!
Sara Emily

ReplyDelete(I have probably missed quite a few of your posts, but I have decided I will only post on Fridays and visit on Sundays from now on, as, though I love seeing all the work that people create, I find blogger to be a too time consuming platform these days, sorry about that, I hope you understand)….
Have a wonderful Christmas and all the best for a creative and hopefully healthy 2019!
