Christmas is On It's Way! 12 Tags of Christmas Week 7

Welcome friends! As you can tell, I've been skipping around with Linda's (The Funkie Junkie) 12 Tags of Christmas challenge. Today I'm posting week 7  (see Linda's inspiring tag HERE) which I made quite a long time ago, so my details may be fuzzy.Linda's 12 week challenge is so much fun, and I really look forward to it each year!   The challenge is generously sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique; 3 lucky winners will receive gift certificates for a shopping spree to the shop, and everyone who completes the challenge and follows the simple guidelines will receive a discount coupon to use on their January Funkie Junkie orders!

This was a straight out CASE for me, because I think Linda's design is perfect! Clearly I was inspired by Linda's use of the green and blue diagonal striped background created using Tim's Stripes stencil and Distress inks. I even used the same colors Linda did: Pine Needles and Faded Denim.

And the Ornate Frame is one of my favorite dies, and I embossed it with Hammered Metal embossing powder, just as Linda did. I didn't have the same stamp for the greeting as Linda (I do now! I added to my Christmas greeting stamp stash at The Funkie Junkie's Cyber weekend sale!) This one is an old one from my stash. I used a stitched oval die cut, but otherwise finished my framed greeting the same as Linda.

I really loved Linda's poinsettia, and I did my best to copy that, but I think I fell short. I used Winter's Mistake and Hammered Metal embossing powder on my greenery. I really love Linda's chunky glitter she used. My bow is two toned, also, but the darker blue is vintage seam binding from my Mom's stash. I put my design tape on a strip of black card stock under my floral cluster.

That's all for me today!

I'm sharing with these challenges:

  9. A delightful card-CASEing of Linda's design - it really does work beautifully. I've always hopped around in order in previous years, but I can't deal with the confusion this year (I almost missed one out altogether once) so I'm doing them strictly in order so far! This one's made but yet to be blogged - that's another whole timing headache in itself!!
