CAS Christmas Card For Scrapy Land

Hello, friends and visitors! It's time for a new Anything Goes challenge at Scrapy Land. I challenged myself to create in a clean and simple style.  This is in complete contrast to my mixed media canvas (see it HERE) I made this weekend, and I find CAS to be a bit more of a challenge for me. But isn't it fun to to have our creativity tested?

My photography skills are lacking, so I really just don't have a good shot of this, but hopefully you get the idea.

I used a Memory Box Snowflake Ornament to cut black card for the bottoms, and manila folder covered with contractor's foil for the tops. While this particular die is no long available at Scrapy Land, there are other snowflake ornament dies available.  The inventory is constantly being updated, so visit the shop often! The ornament tops were colored with Black Soot Distress paint, partially dried and wiped back. The snowflakes were heat embossed with holographic embossing powder.

For the background I chose water color paper and embossed with a dots folder water and colored with Festive Berries and Evergreen Bough Distress inks. My sentiment is Tim Holtz Simple Sayings inked with Black Soot Distress Archival ink. Scrapy Land also has a wonderful assortment of embossing folders available, so be sure to check out their latest offering here.

I'm really enjoying the CAS style. I hope you'll pop over to Scrapy Land blog to see the amazing inspiration from my teammates! I hope you'll find some time to join our Anything Goes challenge. Just be sure to use at least one brand die that Scrapy Land carries in the shop to qualify for one of two $10 gift certificate prizes! We'll also be on the lookout for our Top Picks!

I'm sharing with these challenges:

Thank you for stopping by today and for all your wonderful comments!
Hugs and Blessings!

  18. I totally agree with you about CAS! It really is hard to do, especially compared to our mixed media. This card is CAS and so beautifully done! I don't know how you didn't smear anything (that is usually my problem)! Haha. Those ornaments are Die-tastic and so fun. Gorgeous design and details! I just got a Vagabond 2 so you will have to share your favorite list of dies with me so I can order some. Lol! Hugz to you muffin! ~Punkin
