I started with a manila folder, laid on some Tissue and washi tapes, even some scraps I had left over. I spritzed some Distress paints (Broken China, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge) with water and dragged my card through the puddle. Heat dried and inked with various Distress inks through a TCW stencil.
I inked up my butterfly stamp (Personal Stamp Exchange) with Library Green Archival ink and heat embossed the image with clear embossing powder. I layered on black paper and then onto a card blank. Done in less than 10 minutes!
I hope you like this quick, simple card! Thank you for stopping by and having a look! Hugs and Blessings!

Thank you, Mo! I didn't have the Speed Craft challenge in mind when I was making this; just wanting to get it in today's mail! Ha! Ha!
DeleteGreat take on Tim's tag and a wonderful mixed media card. Thanks for sharing with us at the MMCC!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was easy to make this card using Tim's techniques.
DeleteWOW! What you call simple 10 minute card would probably take me over an hour to make...I am such a slow crafter, it always takes me hours to make a card, and I really mean it, hours and hours...You are just super talented, and can make pretty stuff so easily! Love your "SIMPLE" card!!! Very artsy! You go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Samra; I'm happy you like my card. Most things do take hours, but mainly for the design part. Having already gotten the design, quite frankly, from Tim's tag, this was really easy. But you are sweet to say it's pretty! I can certainly understand why your cards take hours and hours--they are so well thought out and full of details! Hugs!
DeleteFabulous, love the layers and colours. Thanks for joining in at Crafty Boots Challenges this time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisette! I really appreciate your kind words!
DeleteFabulous card, I love your butterfly design. Thank you for sharing your work with all of us at Crafty Boots Challenges.

Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Dionne!
DeleteLove your gorgeous card Sara, fab inspiration.
ReplyDeleteTried to email you but for some reason it would not work. I am in N. Carolina believe it or not, in Chapel Hill. If you are anywhere close, let me know!
WooHoo! I am in Wilmington, NC, about 2 hrs. from there! Off to your blog to see if I can contact you and see if I gave the wrong e-mail! Thanks for dropping in here to let me know!
Deletedone in 10 minutes!! wow! such a fab card! thanks for joining us at MMCC!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sanna! A rare 10 minute creation for me, mind you, but mainly because the supplies were out, the overall gist of the design already in mind, and a forced deadline! Ha! Ha!
DeleteSara, this is wonderful and you did it in 10 mins too! That's fantastic!! Hugs my friend, Georgie xx
ReplyDeleteJust seen you've entered at A Sprinkle of Imagination too - thanks for joining us there xx
Awww, that's sweet of you, Georgie! I was under pressure to get this done, and almost didn't think it was even "blogworthy", even by my standards, so your compliment is very generous, indeed! Hugs! Feeling much better???
ReplyDeleteFabulous Sara!! I'm not sure I could even decide on colours in 10 minutes, and you got an entire card done!! Love all the dimension and texture you were able to create on just one layer, bravo! hugs :)
ReplyDeletePamellia, thank you for putting a giggle in my day! I can't pick out anything in 10 minutes either, but everything was all laid out for me from my previous project. I love seeing what I can throw together with whatever I forgot to put away from the night before (or was too lazy to put away), and usually it goes to the trash can, but this one actually made it onto a card for my sister. Poor girl gets "leftovers" a lot! Hugs!
DeleteI love this .... those butterflies look gorgeous! Thank you for joining in with the Craft Stamper TIMI challenge ... good luck! Linda XX
ReplyDeleteLinda, thank you for your very sweet comment! I've never seen a butterfly that wasn't gorgeous!
DeleteIt takes me 10 minutes to pick out a paintbrush! Lol! Awesome speedy creation and it turned out amazing! Hugz muffin. ~Niki
ReplyDeleteNiki, you certainly made me giggle! I hear you on that! See my long explanation to Pamellia above :). Throwing things together is actually quite therapeutic for an indecisive soul like me! Hugs!
DeleteFab card - love the background (as well as the butterflies!). Thanks for playing along at Craft Stamper Take It Make It.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shirley! I'm happy you like my card!
DeleteSara, this is a fabulous mixed media creation! Only a super talented person like you can make something like that in 10 minutes! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteHugs :)
Branka xxx
Thank you, Branka! I'm afraid this is not talent, just disorganization! All my junk was out from my previous project; I just grabbed another butterfly stamp and used the same techniques and colors in part from the last project. I am generally a slow, ADD crafter and change my mind a 100 times as I am creating, so this time I challenged myself to not get distracted! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Hugs!
DeleteIt just shows that you don't need ages to create something lovely - the shimmer of the embossed butterfly is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
Thank you, Alison!
DeleteThis is so pretty. It's a good thing to restrict yourself to just what's left on your desk, no need to get out a hundred products to make something gorgeous. Thank you for entering it into the challenge at ASOI.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Jaine!
