Let It Snow-12 Tags of Christmas-Funkie Junkie Style Week 10

Hello friends and visitors! I just finished my card for Week 10 of The 12 Tags of Christmas-Funkie Junkie Style. This challenge runs for 12 weeks and by the end, I will have 12 homemade Christmas cards to send to special friends and family. I was inspired by Linda's neutral and black color scheme,  polka dot ribbon, snowy corrugate panel, "chalkboard" sentiment, layered snowflake, rustic bow, and her one bold pop of color. I discovered this pretty snowflake printed paper in my stash, and I knew I had to base my card on it. I die cut some circles (Spellbinders) from black paper to back my die cut snowflakes (Tim Holtz Paper Snowflakes, Mini Thinlits). I did use white pigment ink and a polka dot stamp (Stampin' Up), but it barely shows on the kraft paper (I used a waste envelope). I added "snow" to the tops of the circles--Grit paste with Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter sprinkled on while still wet. I finished up with my one pop of color--a bit of bling from my stash.

I also gave the corrugate (waste packaging) the snow treatment . The ribbon was cut from a strip of fabric and I frayed the edges. I used a cheapo stencil and black texture paste to make the polka dots.

The dimensional snowflake is an old Tim Holtz Decorative strip die. (I don't own the Layered Snowflake Linda used.) After assembling the flake, I dabbed on gesso and sprinkled with Rock Candy glitter and chunky glitter from my stash for an icy look. I topped it with a smaller flake from the Mini Paper Snowflakes Thinlits set.

My sentiment (stamp maker unknown) is stamped in white pigment ink on a Tim Holtz Labels Thinlits die cut. I added snow flurries with a Stampin' Up background stamp. Like Linda, I smudged on some of the ink to make it appear to be smudged chalk. The bow is May Arts paper cord ribbon from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.

So there's Week 10! This was so fun to make! And now we are jetting off to South Carolina to see Trans Siberian Orchestra for their Christmas show!  See you in a few days!

One more look of my completed card in the studio and in the soft light of the kitchen table. I think the colors are truer in the soft light.
