It's almost the end of the month already, and here I am, sliding in under the deadline for Tim's September tag. I had to make a few substitutions from his supplies list, but I had so much fun improvising (again!).
Tim's got a great tutorial on how to make this textural tag, so be sure to pay him a visit! Isn't this gorgeous?
Changes from Tim's tutorial: Perspective stamp, Ranger Transparent Matte Texture Paste and Ranger Clear embossing powder, Mermaid, Sail Boat Blue, Snowcap and Silver Mixative alcohol inks, and Crinkle ribbon dyed with Evergreen Bough, Salty Ocean and Hickory Smoke Distress markers. I also used alcohol inks on the Frosted butterfly body and on part of the wing that overhangs and added Salty Ocean Distress paint to my word band. Update: oops! Looks like I forgot the marker spritzer! I think I'll leave it just as it is!
Here are a few close up shots to zoom in on that funky texture and color--love this technique, and will move gloss Transparent texture paste to the top of my wish list. Frosted is a blast to work with, and a must have for any crafter.
And a few last peeks...this little guy was hard to photograph!
I wish to enter this into the following challenges:
Eclectic Ellapu Purple Team Use Your Stash Which is 6 Months or Older--Alcohol ink paper, alcohol inks, brads and Crinkle ribbon all over 6 months old.
Thank you so much for visiting today and for all your lovely comments! Hugs and Blessings!
Sara Emily

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love this blue and grey association: brilliant!
ReplyDeleteLoves this Sara doll! Did you add the clear embossing powder over the matte texture oaste? My matte TP didn't turn out so glossy looking! The Blues in this design are exquisite and so fun! What an awesome sauce interpretation of the tag this month! You never cease to amaze me with your willingness to substitute and try new things. Wowzers and gorgeous! Hugz to you muffin!
ReplyDeleteLove the background color and the butterfly is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful, Sara! The butterfly fluttered straight into my heart... to borrow someone's word above, it is indeed ethereal. :o) The background is gorgeous and the entire design is masterfully done. ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful tags!! I just love your creativity and colors, especially on your tag with all the blue and the butterfly!! Stunning and vivid backgrounds!! Thanks for sharing with us at ODBD!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Sara Emily! This tag is ethereal in its beauty! I like it even BETTER than Tim's tag. You captured the feeling of a delicate butterfly floating off into the blue October sky. It's magnificent in it's simplicity....even though I know there are a lot of techniques tucked into that marvelous tag. I super love this!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe way you have made the butterfly is amazing, love the blues.
ReplyDeleteGreat the way you have started with Tim's tag ideas and made one completely your own.
Have I ever told you, you are awesome at improvising?? Gorgeous butterfly!! and love those blues!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative as well as talented ,my dear friend Sara Emily!!
Someday , i would like to see photos from the violet powder bomb that went off in your closet! heehee

Sara that is wonderful and so beautiful. Love, love, love the colour of the piece and now there are two of those dimensional pastes on my wish list too, lol, along with the frosted film which I had never heard of until Tim's tag. I have a lot of the alcohol inks and it was good to play with them properly for the first time, lol, and mine must be seven or eight years old, lol, so they will be coming out again soon.
ReplyDeleteI just received that stamp set, got a great deal on it, and looking forward to playing with it but you definitely should have been a winner this time, the blue is just gorgeous gorgeousness!
I missed a few steps because I had nothing like the supplies he has and just ran out of time this month. Hoping to get the next one created sooner as I've just had an idea because I've not got those Bigz dies so keep your fingers crossed for me that I can do it. Have an awesome weekend hun xx
