Christmas Card for June

Hello again! Well, I bet you thought I may have forgotten to make my Christmas card this month! Nothing like waiting 'til the last minute to get it posted!

Quick post today with just a few details. My patterned papers are old K and Company, The bells are from a set of die cuts my friend Autumn (SewPaperPaint) sent me for Christmas last year, as are the poinsettias. I bought a couple packs of the flowers, too, so you'll be seeing more of them.

I used a Tim Holtz stencil and texture paste for my greeting. When it was dry I swiped green metallic wax through the stencil to highlight the words, but this looked a little bland. I pounced embossing fluid through the stencil and heat embossed with holographic embossing powder. Love the subtle shimmer in real life. Cheese cloth is died with Bundled Sage Distress ink. Easy peasy, and one more for the pile! And it's fairly flat for easy mailing come time. I think I'm going to be much happier this November!

(This is one of those cards that looks MUCH better in person.)

I'm entering these challenges:
Thank you for your visit today and for all your kind words.
Hugs and Blessings!

You asked about the embossing folder on my Steampunk card - it's Spellbinders M Bossabilities EL-017 - sorry this is a tad late, but better late than never.

  10. Sara, this is beautiful! The warmth and traditional colors makes me feel all cozy. :) The bells nestled within the poinsettia are stunning and your texture paste work is perfection. I will be playing with texture paste this coming week or two, which scares me silly. :) It will be a small dabble into it, but I'm super excited. Your work always inspires me. This card will be treasured, as is every gift from your lovely heart! Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend. :)

    Hugs and blessings,
    Karen

  11. Ha, ha! I'm glad I'm not the only one who procrastinates projects until the end of the month! But really- it's Christmas-themed and we are in July so we can't really count you among the procrastinators! I really love how this one turned out, too. The colors are so unique-- I like how the greens in your sentiment are minty-colored and how you added some glitter sparkle! Wonderful work here and I'm so glad you shared this with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

  13. Wow Sara, I can't tell how happy I am to see a Christmas card! And what a Christmas card it is!! GORGEOUS! The background papers are wonderful with the subtle vintage Christmas patterns. The poinsettias are stunning, I love how you tucked in those bells and some cheesecloth for a shabby touch! I think my favourite bit though, is that amazing glittery sentiment! Love the colour, love how you made a corner frame with it, love the shimmer, love love love!! My Pion Christmas collection will be arriving this week and you have boosted my holiday spirit and put me in the mood to create some Christmas in July!! Thanks for the inspiration my friend! hugs :)
