Wish for Peace on Earth for 12 Tags of Christmas-Funkie Junkie Style- Week 2

Welcome! I've finished up my card for  12 Tags of Christmas-Funkie Junkie Style-Week 2 which is being hosted by Linda of The Funkie Junkie. Linda's tag is a slice of  Festive Vintage Heaven! Please be sure to stop by her blog and see her amazing tag! I was so inspired by her red and pale green color palette, those beautiful trees and of course, her sweet little decorative deer.

I used my brand spankin' fresh from The Funkie Junkie Boutique Tim Holtz Mini Woodlands stencil (set 21) and Evergreen Bough Distress ink for the background, and cut a Woodlands Thinlit to top it off. "Peace" is from Tim's Handwritten Holidays set, and I cut it 3 times and layered it up. The white card back panel is inked with Festive Berries using the Nordic stencil from the same set of minis--how convenient! I  aged it a little with Frayed Burlap. I used 2 of the Impression Obsession Deer Trio instead one of the herd of Tim's decorative deer that was in my package from Funkie Junkie, because I want to simply pop this in an envelope and send it. To get the metallic look Linda has on her sweet dimensional deer, I used a gold envelope saved from the junkmail, and toned them down a little with a smear and a wipe of Black Soot Distress ink.

I used some old Gilded Holidays Remnant Rubs and the new Holiday Talk Metallic Stickers for some more glitz.

I have a huge spool of vintage baker's twine,so I was real excited to see it on Linda's tag. I also used a little snippet of crinkle ribbon. Three down, nine to go! Will I make it before the 19th of December???

I got the whole herd together for a group shot.

Aren't these deer adorable?! You can find these and many of the other products I used at The Funkie Junkie Boutique-links to specific products are below.

  1. Beautiful Sara! I love the pattern on the backing, how fun is that! Your main panel is just amazing, all splashy and splattery, like a snow storm in the forest! The metallic deer add a little nature and flair at the same time. Just wonderful my friend!

And the deer are perfect too. This is simply lovely, Sara. I'm delighted you have shared it with my visitors for the challenge.
